A Tinnitus Education

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

In my short tenure at Neuromonics, – I was just hired as CEO in November of 2013 – I have discovered that I’m in the business of education. I’m serious about this. What I see and hear as I talk with so many patients and audiologists across the US and Australia is that Neuromonics products are mending broken lives – lives placed on hold due to tinnitus. (more…)

The Military and Tinnitus

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

As we look forward to celebrating Presidents’ Day weekend (and mark the actual birthday of Abraham Lincoln today), we are reminded of the contributions of these men, and of all those serving our country. At Neuromonics, we have frequent encounters with many of these individuals. (more…)

To Customize or Not to Customize

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

“Is my tinnitus bad enough that I need a customized treatment?”

Plenty of you probably wonder that when you start looking at treatments out there for tinnitus. If you suffer from tinnitus, you might consider it a minor nuisance. Or it may really be affecting your life. But what should you do? (more…)

Busy Winter

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

It’s been a busy year so far. We’ve introduced one new product – the Haven – and reintroduced the Oasis with new features. That’s a lot for a company this size – or for that matter, any size.  It’s important work, though. These latest product advances are helping people cope with the overwhelming burden of tinnitus. Helping Audiologists Spread the Word on Effective Tinnitus Treatment

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

What I hear so often from patients is that they never knew there was help available for their tinnitus. That’s somewhat disheartening. Knowing that we at Neuromonics have some very reliable treatments available, it always frustrating to find out that few sufferers know what’s available to them for treatment. (more…)

A C-130, NORAD…and Neuromonics

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

– Eula Adams, Neuromonics CEO

Last week, I took a ride in a C-130 military transport plane, toured an air force base, learned about aeromedical evacuations and visited North American Aerospace Defense Command as well as U.S. Northern Command.

What does all that have to do with Neuromonics?

A lot! (more…)

Protect your ears, prevent noise-induced hearing damage

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

An ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure.

The second weekend of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., has come to a close. But for some of the attendees, the music plays on. That is in the form of a faint (or significant) humming, ringing, hissing, roaring or whistling. That’s tinnitus, and while that sound dims over time for many concertgoers, it lingers much longer for others. That’s where Neuromonics comes in. (more…)

Quietly waiting

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

Neuromonics recently had the pleasure of participating in the National Guard Association of Colorado’s recent conference and military ball. As always, I am so impressed by our military members. During our time there, I met many of these amazing individuals and heard stories of deployments near and far. (more…)

Tinnitus Awareness Week

Tinnitus: Spread the Word

It’s Tinnitus Awareness Week. What I think we need to focus upon is that while tinnitus has no cure, there is a solution. If you’ve been reading this blog on a regular basis – as well as the stories of some of our patients and providers on our home page – you’ve read that many members of the medical community routinely dismiss tinnitus as a chronic condition with no hope for relief. We All Serve

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Monday, June 20th, 2016

As you have already read in several of my previous posts, I consider working with the military to be one of Neuromonics’ most important missions. So many veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan are returning to the United States with many issues. One of those is tinnitus, which is, of course a major focus for us. (more…)

A little training never hurt anyone

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Monday, June 20th, 2016

A few blog posts back, I mentioned how I found myself more of an educator than a CEO in my new role at Neuromonics. Now several months later, it remains the same. We take a lot of pride in our products, and are very happy to share our findings and treatments with audiologists and the hearing community at large. (more…)

Adding a Tinnitus Specialty to Your Practice

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Monday, June 20th, 2016

It makes a lot of fiscal sense to add tinnitus treatment to your roster of services. I’ve been saying this for some time now. With an ever-growing patient base, and the deluge of military service members reporting this affliction, a tinnitus specialty makes sense. And with many sensible treatment options available now for the audiologist to consider, treating tinnitus is no longer a shot in the dark. (more…)

Making Your Tinnitus Practice Successful

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Monday, June 20th, 2016

In the last blog post, I talked about why adding a tinnitus specialty to your audiology practice is a practical and smart addition.

So now the question is, how do you get the word out about this specialty? (more…)

The Longevity Economy

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Friday, June 17th, 2016

The Baby-Boomer generation reached retirement age relatively recently. Now, those who were part of the “Summer of Love, Vietnam and Woodstock” are beginning to feel the effects of their age. It’s a big slice of the American people. It’s also a big challenge (and big potential market) for audiologists called upon to solve the problems that a lifetime of exposure to loud noises has created. (more…)

The Affordable Care Act and Tinnitus

Posted by: Brian Kleintop, Posted on: Friday, June 17th, 2016

With the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in effect for the past several months, many people are wondering how it applies to their tinnitus treatment. It’s a good question, and one that deserves some attention – from policy holders as well as politicians on the national scale. (more…)
